[RTC List] Broadband Stimulus Funds Delayed

Larry,

Honestly, I think that even if the money had been allocated this Summer,
it probably would not have come in time for any actual work to get
lined-up in this area before the "rainy season" hit us. With all of the
work that goes into obtaining permits, environmental impact reports,
engineering studies, putting out contracts for bid, etc., a few weeks
doesn't really seem adequate.

If the money comes through in December, it might give groups involved the
chance to start work in Spring or Summer of 2010. With our luck, the
stimulus money will probably end-up getting handed out AFTER the economy
recovers! :-)
