[RTC List] Deadline approaching: Call for Tech Conference Speakers

All,

If you haven't submitted an abstract yet for the March technology conference, please do so by Saturday, January 31.  This is a great opportunity to showcase your business or share your tech expertise with Humboldt County, and we're open to topics beyond those listed below.  We are also interested in HSU and CR student presentations.

North Coast Technology Conference

March 14, 2009

 

 

The first annual North Coast Technology Conference, scheduled for March 14, 2009, will bring together technology experts from Humboldt, Trinity, and Del Norte counties.   This conference is intended to highlight local expertise and share experiences and knowledge.  The Redwood Technology Consortium, conference host, is soliciting speakers.  The call is open to anyone interested in sharing their experiences in various areas of technology such as:

 

  a.. Search engine optimization 
  b.. Broadband technology and infrastructure 
  c.. Open source tools (such as content managements systems Drupal and Joomla) 
  d.. Web-based marketing 
  e.. Web 2.0 technologies 
  f.. Social Media/Networking (such as MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) 
  g.. Green IT/sustainable technology 
 

If you would like to participate in the North Coast Technology Conference as a speaker, please submit a proposal on the RTC Web site: http://www.redwoodtech.org.  Include the following brief details of your proposed presentation on the form: title, abstract, a few sentences of biographical information that relate you to the topic, and full contact information for you and your co-presenters (title, address, e-mail, phone). All abstracts are reviewed by the RTC Board and notification regarding acceptance will be made in the February.



In addition to local speakers, the conference will also feature a follow-up to the popular Technology Boot Camp offered in 2008.  The follow-up will cover use of technology for marketing your business, including email marketing, search engine optimization, use of Google tools, etc.
