A couple of years ago, redwoodtech did a post of Legislation AB140.
The purpose of the grant was to provide telephone service to rural
communities in California that do not have telephone service.  This
grant was extended. I testified at the hearing and I also spoke to the
Senators about the funding for high speed internet that you just
mentioned.

My company is a CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier). If your
group can help us locate the people in your community that do not have
telephone service, we can apply for the grant to get it to them.   At
the same time, we could also investigate bringing high speed internet
to those areas with the new internet grant that was just passed.
