To everyone who has replied to help out in my request about scanning -
Thanks a million!

I got a bunch of replies and I really appreciate it. We have some
very knowledgeable people out there in RTC-land!

I've had an RTC member offer a Nikon Coolscan 3000 for my use
eventually (it's on loan right now) which I'll probably take him up on
that. The difference in quality between the "consumer" quality
scanners (like Costco) and a good quality professional scanner is
dramatic, especially for slides and negatives. I think I'll wait for
the Nikon unit and see how it works out. I've also put in a request
for Access Humboldt to purchase a good one and make it available to
the community to use. We'll see how that works out, but that would be
the best solution of all.

I'm going to Swanlunds today for some immediate scans, but will wait
for the Nikon unit to do the major scanning. Thanks for the info
anyhow! If I find out anything of use to everyone else from Access
Humboldt, I'll pass it along.
