For those of you who either missed or don't listen to Democracy Now!,  
here is an interesting link to an interview and discussion aired today

Also, the Mountain Area Information Network of North Carolina (a non- 
profit community-based broadband provider) has written an interesting  
manual called "Local Network Cookbook:  A Recipe for Launching a Local  
Broadband Wireless Network" and can be found at: http://main.nc.us/lan-recipe/ 
   While I'm not suggesting that we create one, this is an interesting  
community response to the lack of broadband in rural areas of North  
Carolina.  It sounds like a good model and case study.
