Hi all,
I know the meeting notice already went out yesterday: Thursday at Humboldt
Area Foundation at 5:30. I wanted to add a little more information about the
topics for the meeting and hope you will consider coming. Tina

The Redwood Coast Connect project has been in progress since last September.
It's a 4-county demand aggregation project (Humboldt, Del Norte, Trinity,
and Mendocino). Today we shared some preliminary results with the Humboldt
County Board of Supervisors. I will be showing you mostly the same
presentation with a few other things of interest added in. The maps will
show you some surprising results, if any of you remember how sparse
broadband coverage was just a couple years ago. I will share some of the
methodology we're using to evaluate supply and demand. Next week, we will be
providing more information and open a couple week period asking for public
comment and feedback.
Also speaking will be 101Netlink - Seth Johannesen. 101Netlink has built a
large wireless network over many parts of Humboldt County as well as
northern Mendocino and western Trinity counties. They provide wholesale and
retail broadband services to northwestern California. If you've wondered how
small rural places like Ettersburg and Blocksburg (and many more) get high
speed Internet, you'll hear about it at the meeting, as well as hearing
about their services in more populated places like the Humboldt Bay area.
